SHOCKING! Planned Parenthood Patients Receive Fewer Abortions Than General Public [Addicting Info] A few days ago, we published this article about a claim that Planned Parenthood performs an abortion every 96 seconds. We alleged that the claim was false. We were wrong and we were called out on it, and for that, we are grateful because it allowed us to place the statistic in perspective. Planned Parenthood does perform an abortion about every 96 seconds (based on a 24 hour/365 day calendar), which sounds horrific, until you realize that across the country, a woman receives an abortion every 26 seconds (also based on 24/365).

  1. Ed Bradford says:

330,000 abortions per year is their production level.
I think they are the Exxon-Mobile of abortions.

  2. Astra Navigo says:

Ed – abortions are better than unsupportable teenagers breaking into buildings and raising Hell, generally.

(Fundies are a trip.  They love fetuses – all kinds of fetuses.  Once they're born, however, it's Root, Hog, or Die….)

  3. Ed Bradford says:

    I disagree.
"better" is very subjective, wouldn't you agree?

My neighbors have teenage mom's. I dislike the
teen's screwing around, but I respect, profoundly the
teen's and their parent;s decision to give birth. On those
issues I am 100% willing to help them.

    What is a "fundies"?
What is "Root, Hog, or Die"?

  4. Chris George says:

+Astra Navigo You are missing the point. Rich people have shares in companies that run prisons. It is a lucrative business. The profits only get really fantastic if the prisons run at capacity. In a prosperous society, people don't do crime. In a society that has plenty of economic opportunity, young people do not do crime. So once you have private prisons, what else do you need to guarantee a steady supply of?

And how do you do that?

    And what are they advocating?

And what do the actual numbers say?

In a society that lacks opportunity, where over 50% of people between 15-24 are un or under employed, where incarceration rates are the highest in the world, where new contracts with cash strapped state and county governments are being snapped up left and right, what did you think was going to happen?

Social engineering to keep the profits flowing of course?

Paranoid? Its only paranoid if it isn't happening. The only other even remotely palatable reason for the extreme incarceration numbers is racial and no one wants to talk about that either.

  5. David Lazarus says:

That's because "planned parenthood" teaches naive young women (putting it nicely) how to close their legs.

  6. Astra Navigo says:

Oh, Chris, I 'get' it.  Believe me, I get it.  And no, it's not 'paranoia' if it's actually happening – which it is.

The Fundies are tools in this respect – because there's very little save for religion to get people to actually support this kind of nonsense and ignore a cheap solution.
