Concentrated capital = power

We were expecting something else?

    And everyone puts up with it, because what is the alternative? People have to work, they have to earn money. There is little time for the failing middle class to fight for their rights. Things have to get so bad here there is no other option than to fight back.

    +Theo Fenraven There is truth in the fact that you cannot begin recovery until you hit rock bottom.

    I was hoping we wouldn't have to go there, that people could see what is right before their noses and would then start making rational decisions. I am just too bloody optimistic. And that is not saying much when you consider how pessimistic most people around me think I am.

    My friends often call me a doomer. :) I guess if you see reality with clear eyes and a clear mind, you are a doomer.

    +Theo Fenraven I am pretty sure that ignoring threats was never adaptive for us as a species. It seems to me that the dreamy optimists would all be lunch while the doomers would be hanging out in the lower branches of the trees.

    We created a culture of fear wherein it became (temporarily) more attractive to bury our heads in the sand and ignore it all. Also, humans don't like change. They want to follow their same routines, day in and day out, and woe to anyone who screws with Sunday afternoon football or Friday night at the bar.
